Monks and Mystics

We’d like to put you in a trance! YNYC presents spiritual and mystic works from a variety of cultures. We’ll be performing music by frequent YNYC composers Chris Mueller and Michael Lamb, as well as music and texts from Aaron Jay Kernis, Meredith Monk, Sarah Hopkins, Frank Ferko, and Hildegard von Bingen. MONKS AND MYSTICS will also feature the finalists in our fourth annual Competition for Young Composers. Come hear world premieres from Zachary Wadsworth, Rob Teehan and Matthew Brown. The composers will be in attendance, and you can meet them at a reception afterwards. You can also buy tickets at the concert for our third annual Raffle for Young Composers, which supports the competition. Prizes include spa certificates, concert tickets and more. We hope to see you there!

Audition for YNYC!

Join a vibrant group of talented young professionals in their 20s and 30s. YNYC performs a wide variety of collegiate-level choral music, including Whitacre, Britten, Tormis, Lauridsen, Howells, Taverner plus commissioned pieces by new young composers.
