The home for choral singers in their 20s and early 30s who yearn for both a social/networking atmosphere and superior artistic experiences, The Young New Yorkers' Chorus is looking for excellent singers of all voice parts. We present beautiful performances in lush venues, energetic and engaging rehearsals, and social events like kickball, bowling, karaoke and bar pub-crawls. Most soloists are selected from within the group, and the repertoire represents a variety of the best of the art form. YNYC rehearses Tuesday nights from 7pm to 9:30 in Manhattan's mid-town west neighborhood.

Highlights from our exciting 10th Anniversary season:

  • Lightbright, our popular annual Christmas Concert, December 4th, 2010.
  • Brahms Requiem with the New Amsterdam Orchestra at Symphony Space,
    February 11, 2011
  • Performance at the National Conference of the American Choral Directors Association
in Chicago on March 12, 2011.
  • Sound Capsule - The final concert features three newly commissioned works through
our annual Competition for Young Composers, an event that brings national interest
to YNYC while underscoring its commitment to young artists, June 4, 2011.

Auditions will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 26. Other times are available by appointment throughout the season. Audition location: Kaufman Center, 129 West 67th Street. The auditions will consist of sight-singing, vocal exercises and any prepared piece you wish to bring.
